The IAF Center is a reality due to the commitment and support of generous individuals dedicated to strengthening the ties between the Israel Air Force, its Founders, the Israeli population and the international community, and to provide valuable assistance to the greater IAF Family. Without them the Center and its numerous activities would have never left the drawing board.
In 2006, the IAF Center held an inauguration ceremony for the Memorial Hall commemorating the memory of the IAF fallen, established with a generous contribution from Frank and Shirley Lowy on the occasion of their son David’s 50th birthday. Mr. Frank Lowy, a Holocaust survivor from Czechoslovakia who served in the IDF during the War of Independence, immigrated to Australia in the early 1950s but has maintained close ties with Israel.
In 2008, longtime supporters of the IAF Center, Florence and Michael Edelstein announced their sponsorship of the main conference auditorium at the IAF Center. The state-of-the-art 260 seat “Edelstein Auditorium” has the latest lighting and electronic equipment and also provides easy access for the disabled. Thanks to the generosity of Florence and Michael Edelstein, the Center is now capable of hosting and conducting a variety of international conferences, meetings, lectures and strategy sessions in a world-class setting.
The Mark Resnik Entrance Pavilion was dedicated in 2009 by Shelley and Jennifer Resnik, and today is the epicenter of the IAF Center. The magnificent Pavilion unites the crucial IAF units which honor the past of the Israel Force and build its future. It is here where individuals join, to create a legacy and heritage of a timeless nation.
Mr. Jona Goldrich of Los Angeles and his brother, Avraham Goldreich (one of the founders of the IAF) contributed generously to create the terraced, landscaped garden at the entrance to the Center. The Goldreich Garden, dedicated it in memory of their parents and brother who perished in the Holocaust, gives visitors the opportunity to enjoy a splendid view of the garden and a place to sit and relax.
Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Miriam and Mr. Sheldon Adelson the Center has created the Adelson Academic Center with lecture halls outfitted with the latest audio-visual equipment for conducting training, seminars, debriefing, officer classification and much more.
