  • The Ilan Ramon Annual International Space Conference

    Introduction

    The Ilan Ramon International Space Conference is hosted every year at the Fisher Brothers Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies in the Israel Air Force Center in Herzliya. This two-day gathering, held in conjunction with Israel’s Space Agency and the Ministry of Science and Technology, is a living tribute to Israel’s first astronaut, the late Colonel Ilan Ramon, who perished with his colleagues on the space shuttle Columbia on February 1, 2003.     General Overview

    The first 60 minutes in which a person is injured are critical to survival rates. Thus, that period has received the common moniker, “The Golden Hour”.

    This concept is true in civilian life, but is much more complicated in the field of battle. If bringing the injured to the hospital faster is not an option, then the “hospital” must be brought to them. If not the entire hospital, then at least the basic equipment needed for monitoring and stabilizing the patient.
